Race to the playoffs set for wild final week

Opinion: Just short of six months have passed since the Red Sox-A's opener in Japan, and we're down to the last seven days on the regular-season calendar - with four division titles and two wild card spots still to be determined. That means channel flipping will be in order.

- Great move. He's not rweplacing Lowell, he's filling in for Lowell, or Youkillis, or Ortiz. This way you add a 20+ HR bat instead of the limp Mark Kotsay. Nice deal.

- The series just wasn't all that good. The Wings never played like themselves and the last 2 games were close, but not well-played.

- Do you people even pay attention? 1. The playoffs have nothing to do with the MVP, a regular season award and 2. How Pujols does against Lidge has absolutely, positively nothing to do with anything.

- MVP stands for Most Valuable, not Best Player. Pujols should not have finished in the top 3.  That team finishes in 4th with or without him.  Pujols was right in 2006 when he said a non playoff team shouldnt have an MVP winner.
